Church Relocation

Project Management Case Study

Church Relocation

NRES was engaged to help an Evangelical Christian church in North Orange County establish its new home, after operating for several years in a nearby business park. NRES was challenged with the entire project scope including site acquisition, municipal entitlements, financing, and construction.

NRES' first priority was to educate the client on the timing and costs factors of bringing their goals to fruition. Once expectations were established, NRES assisted the church in renegotiating the purchase and sale agreement to align with the financing, development and project time constraints. The challenging financing aspect was resolved by coordinating three separate entities including the church itself to raise the necessary equity, while working closely with an ecumenical-based lending institution. Simultaneously, NRES worked with the City to obtain the necessary discretionary approvals.

In just 20 months from the original engagement of NRES, the church was fully operational as a house of worship, a Sunday School, and a day care facility, serving it's growing congregation.
